1. All merchandise must be clean and odor-free. No merchandise can be displayed by lying out on the floor, in boxes or on blankets on the floor.
2. Clothing must be hung or folded neatly and placed on your table. Keep booth spaces swept and free of debris.
3. Management reserves the right to ask a vendor to remove any item that is considered by management to be offensive. Do NOT challenge management if this is requested.
4. Never, ever leave food in booths. Recycling is located in the Food Court area and at the end of the hi~fi Café area. Empty trash EVERY day!
Information:
The Downtown Market hosts potential merchants on Thursday afternoons between 1pm and 4pm. Tours are given, space selections are shown and questions are answered one-on-one by members of the management staff.
If a merchant plans on selling for 2 consecutive days, merchandise can be covered and left overnight.
Parking: Merchants are provided free parking under the Downtown Market building and are REQUIRED to park there during open Market hours of 10am-5pm on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Handicapped merchants must still park under the building, however will be give a ride back up to the front doors by a Market employee. Merchants are never, ever to park in the United Way Parking lot. Merchants who park on S. French Broad are using spots that should be filled by shoppers. Shoppers are the reason we are here! Please abide by
Single and Two-Day Merchants - Arrive at 9am on the first morning they intend to sell and booth space will be assigned on a first come, first served basis. One and two day spaces are NOT reserved in advance unless merchant is a Market member. (See Market Membership Information tab). If a merchant plans on selling for 2 consecutive days, merchandise can be covered and left overnight.
Three-day vendors ONLY (Fri, Sat & Sun) can arrive on Thursday afternoons between 1pm and 4pm, select and pay for a space and move-in that afternoon.
The Market is NOT responsible for misplaced or stolen merchandise. We DO recommend renters insurance to fixed position merchants.
RATES:
Member Rates: Beginning March 1st - $20/day, Friday is FREE if Saturday and Sunday are paid for on Thursday afternoons or Friday mornings.
Multiple Booths: Available only to members - Two 10x10 adjoining spaces = $300/month
Electricity: $5/ per day add’l per booth. Currently there is very limited access to electrical outlets. Spaces containing access to electricity are available first to Market Members, then on a first come, first served basis, as available.
Permanent fixed position booths: Available to Market Merchants. See management for waiting list sign-up at the information desk.
